What ROMS Measures

ROMS combines a strength-based assessment with the measurement of symptoms, the consumer’s ability to function in everyday life, high-risk behaviors (e.g., danger to self or others, criminal behavior) and substance abuse.

The foundation for the clinical assessments integrated into Polaris-ROMS is the Basis-24. The Basis-24 is used to assess symptomology and community/social functioning:

• Depression/anxiety
• Impulsive/addictive behavior
• Psychosis
• Daily living/role functioning
• Relation to self-others

Strength-based scales:

• Resiliency
• Goal Directiveness
• Meaning/purpose for living
• Emotional/Relational skills
• Supports

Clinician Questionnaire

The clinician instrument consists of a series of ratings that facilitate case management.

• DSM Axes I-V (includes GAF)
• Treatment motivation
• Treatment progress (used for case management)
• Potential for additional gains
• High risk behaviors
• Ratings corresponding to each of the consumer strength-based and Basis scales
