Benefits

RES is intended to help providers perform each of the functions required for CQI, including initial patient evaluation, determination of medical necessity for treatment, treatment planning, monitoring of progress and satisfaction, assessment of severity and nature of consumer symptoms and the impact on consumer functioning and detection of critical conditions (e.g., danger to self or others, psychosis).

Consumers participate in treatment planning and management and receive effective treatment, appropriate to their condition.

Clinicians receive real-time reports that can be used to help plan consumer treatment, meet service utilization requirements, and monitor ongoing critical risks to recovery. Reports can be used to help motivate patients.

Payors can enhance UR review and document quality of care.

Program managers receive standardized, reliable, severity adjusted outcomes data and can conduct meaningful CQI. Needs, values and priorities identified by directors of Community Mental Health Centers (CMHC) are addressed.
