Screening and Monitoring Versions

Polaris-Medical is commercially available in screener and monitoring versions. The screener requires no staff effort beyond directing the patient to the computer and providing the physician with a copy of the report produced by the system. The report shows the patient name and date, and the screening information described above, except for the monitoring (trend) data.

The monitoring version provides for repeated administrations. This enables the physician to “watch and wait” to determine if a patient’s elevated symptom severity will spontaneously clear. For those given a prescription for a CNS medication, the monitoring function enables the physician to evaluate the effectiveness of the medication.
