Polaris Awarded Grant to Improve Patient Engagement in Treatment for Chemical Dependency

Langhorne, PA (August 6, 2012)- Polaris Health Directions has been at the forefront of developing technology to improve substance abuse treatment outcomes for more than a decade. With new funding from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the company, in partnership with the New Hope Foundation, is now preparing to refine its chemical dependency outcomes management system, Polaris-CD, to predict and improve engagement rates in treatment--integral to positive outcomes. Polaris Awarded Nida Contract to Create a Substance Abuse Treatment and Referral System

Polaris Health Directions was awarded a contract from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) to develop STaRS (Substance Treatment and Referral System), a Web-based system that will help health care providers find appropriate treatment programs for their patients. Clinicians will enter information into the system, such as the patient's address, insurance status and type of treatment requested, and receive in return a list of treatment providers that best match the criteria.
