Polaris Health Directions Offers Software for Medical-Behavioral Integration to NCCBH

October,  2005

PHD has offered the membership of the National Council of Community Behavioral Health (NCCBH) an opportunity to use Polaris-Medical.

Polaris-Medical is an automated system that screens medical patients for depression and anxiety while also providing rule out information for bereavement, bi-polar disorder and chemical dependency. Clinical reports are immediately produced and the scoring is normed on both primary care and mental health populations. This combination of better, more appropriate norms with rule out information gives practitioners clinical decision support and reduces "false positive" results, a common problem with existing screening tools.

A demo of this software is available on this site.

NCCBH is the oldest and largest community behavioral health trade association, and the only trade association representing the providers of mental health, substance abuse and developmental disability services. Its members serve nearly 6 million adults, children and families and employ nearly 250,000 staff.
