The Polaris Team

Polaris staff have worked in outcomes management for almost a decade. Company founders are:

  • Grant Grissom: Dr. Grissom is a leader in the field of outcomes management. He holds advanced degrees in mathematics, computer science and counseling. He served as Social Science Research Director of Philadelphia 's University City Science Center , and Vice President for Research and Development for Compass Information Services and Integra. Dr. Grissom has been the Principal Investigator for more than 25 grants awarded to his research teams by the National Institutes on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Mental Health (NIMH), Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse (NIAAA), and the federal Departments of Education, Justice and Defense. He has published his outcomes assessment work in books and articles in scientific and professional journals, and presented his teams' research at numerous national conferences.
     
  •  Martin Nankin: Mr. Nankin holds advanced degrees in Business Administration and Organizational Management. He has provided executive level operational and consulting services to a broad range of private industry and human service organizations. His human service consulting experience includes work for mental health facilities, correctional institutes, behavioral healthcare facilities and state government agencies. He was a founder of a regional community based residential treatment program for hard to serve special needs populations. He has been involved in numerous startup and turn around situations utilizing his negotiation and entrepreneurial skills. He has published on outcomes and been a guest speaker on managing and implementing change.

Other members of the Polaris team include:

  • Greg Alonzo, Chief Operating Officer:  Mr. Alonzo has over twenty years of experience in healthcare and technology, where he has worked with companies to rapidly grow their businesses and deliver superior products and services.  As a former Associate Partner at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and at Price Waterhouse, his clients included many of the leading companies in the healthcare industry, as well as rapidly growing smaller firms.  Mr. Alonzo was also Chief Financial Officer for a start-up specialty pharmaceutical company, and he holds an MBA from Harvard University and BA from Dartmouth College.
  • Laura Dietzen, Statistical Consultant and Data Analyst: Ms. Deitzen has more than fifteen years of experience and has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles in the areas of mental health services, program evaluation and outcomes. She has a master's degree in rehabilitation psychology from Purdue University .
  • Erik Grissom, Product Development: Mr. Grissom oversees product development, testing and support areas. He has degrees from Knox College and Emerson College.
  • Sherrill Lord, Account Management and Clinical Training: Dr. Lord has advanced degrees from the Widener University Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology. She has previous experience in research, operations, customer service and community relations for a major testing organization.  She serves as an account liaison and is responsible for clinical training and support.
  • Ann Saust Rossi, Programmer: Dr Rossi has earned a Ph.D. from Copenhagen University . She has ten years Java programming experience and is responsible for software design and implementation.
  • Mike Swierczek, Programmer: Mr. Swierczek has a degree in software engineering from University of Scranton. He has four years of programming experience, primarily with C++.
  • Linda L. Toche-Manley, Principal Investigator: Dr Toche-Manley has over twenty years psychometric and product development experience. She holds a Ph.D in Applied Psychology from Claremont Graduate University and has extensive knowledge based on her experience as a consultant and evaluator on national and state child systems of care and public sector adult mental health projects. She is the primary scientific developer behind Polaris's products for youth, and for the severely, persistently mentally ill, and is the Principal Investigator of NIH grants in the areas of domestic violence and child welfare.
